WhatsApp now works across multiple devices and is even seeking to incorporate your account with this multi-device support. We recently reported on how Meta is working on augmenting these multi-device features so that you can move across devices without having to scan QR codes and can easily transfer files and documents from one of your devices to another. Today, we can bring you news of further updates WhatsApp is working on for the desktop version of the app, which will make it feel like a much more complete desktop app. Here is what you need to know.

WhatsApp Download App

The WhatsApp beta community has discovered a new feature for the WhatsApp Windows app, that makes it much easier to find and access all of the auxiliary features of the app. As you can see from the screenshot below, the new WhatsApp sidebar adds quick access to the likes of the app’s settings menu, status updates, your chats, profile, and even the feedback form for reporting issues to WhatsApp.

The update gives the app a much more rounded feeling, making it feel like it is more of its own app and not simply a representation of the mobile experience on a laptop or desktop device. This makes sense too as we have recently seen WhatsApp working hard to implement advanced multi-device support as well as leaked images of the new WhatsApp Premium mode.

WhatsApp Premium will be a WhatsApp Business-only feature but it will have enhanced multi-device support above and beyond that you get with the regular version of WhatsApp, which makes this update to the desktop version a positive step toward making it a central hub for responding to WhatsApp messages and posting status updates from a computer a much more comfortable proposition.

In other recent WhatsApp News, the messaging app will soon be able to host WhatsApp groups of up to 1,024 users.
