WhatsApp remains one of the most popular free chat services available. While the features such as chatting, sending voice notes, and making video calls are all good, the messaging giant didn’t make it easy to share your contacts with others.

In the past, you’d have to give another person your telephone number, which would then have to be added to their phone, and then they could look for you on WhatsApp to start a conversation. Many users have grown accustomed to this method. After all, it’s how we used to do things back when SMS was our only messaging option. Alternatively, there is also a QR option where someone would have to scan your WhatsApp QR code to start a conversation. Some users wonder why the tech giant hasn’t made it easier to send your profile to others directly from the platform.

WhatsApp finally improves sharing your profile with others

Meta, the developers, have responded to this by announcing that they are finally working on a way to share your WhatsApp profile with others much easier than in the past. According to WABeta, the new update might replace the QR button with a share button. By clicking on the share button, you’ll receive a short link for your WhatsApp profile which you can send to someone directly through the app, or you can choose to copy the link and send it through another platform.

This feature isn’t live just yet as it was only recently spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp 2.22.9.8. Judging from the description, it looks like this feature will only be coming to WhatsApp business accounts at the moment. However, a similar button may be released for individuals as well.

This isn’t the only new feature being worked on for WhatsApp, as they’re also experimenting with better ways to start conversations without leaving the app. We look forward to seeing this feature as it can make life a lot easier. If you want to read more about this new feature, you can look at WABeta’s full article. Be sure to also check out some new features in the WhatsApp web client.
